Learn the Fights : Faction Champs Empty Learn the Fights : Faction Champs

In this encounter you will fight 6 out of 14 (10 man) possible NPCs which all behave like a coordinated arena team. Because of the apparent randomness of this fight its hard to come up with one set strategy, instead we have to try and understand how each NPC works and then how they work as a team.

Note that PVP mechanics are applied to the NPCs in this fight and the Faction champions do more damage than typical players, have drastically more health (2.4 million on 25 man), and cast enormous heals.

Each NPC has most if not all of the abilities of a player of the same class so it is important to understand the mechanics of each class when coming up with an appropriate kill order.

The NPCs have an aura which reduces damage taken from all AOEs so its better to single target them down.

The NPCs are immune to mind control. All other forms of crowd control do work, but are subject to Diminishing Returns - after 3 casts, the NPC becomes immune to that Crowd Control effect for 15 seconds. The NPCs themselves will also use crowd controls on the raid.

At the beginning of the fight the damage dealing NPCs will focus on a single raid member and focus fire before switching to a different raid member. Heals therefore should be focused on the targeted raid member. Caster NPCs along with focusing fire will also pick random targets to DOT up. These need to be cleansed or dispelled from the raid throughout the entire encounter.
The NPCs seem to single out clothies first for their focused fire, especially if the raid is composed of mainly melee classes. There are no tanks used in this encounter however if a clothy is in danger the use of taunt will cause the NPC's to drop their target temporarily giving the clothy time to get away.

The goal throughout this encounter is to kill the NPC's faster than they heal so keeping interrupts on the healers is vital.

This is what I have gathered so far from my research. Please feel free to add to, or correct any information I provided as well as any fight videos you guys can find.

As always comments are welcome.
